Why Is It The Polive Look Out For The White Vans

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

It would seem that the white van is the main van that the police track for criminal activity but why is this?

Well to start with, over the past few years the white van has been the accomplice to many criminals from burglaries and theft to abductions and even rape. Why is it that so many criminals choose a white van over the thousands of other vehicles out there?

Well over the years the vehicle of the criminal has changed and it would seem that the modern times have chosen the white van. Here are some of the vehicles that have been top of the criminals most wanted list over the past century.

Ford V8 B-400

This is of course the most famous of the criminal cars because it was the model that the famous outlaws Bonnie and Clyde used to rob banks, small stores and gas stations. If you take a look at this car you automatically think mafia or of the guys from wacky races.

1966 Chevrolet Impala

This was the choice of a deadly serial killer back in the 1960’s. The killer has not been found and the car still stays hidden too so he is either very clever or sat somewhere very far away. He only preyed on people that were inside cars, a bit strange. It was reported by several victims and also drawn out several times. He murdered five people and attempted to do it to another seven.

So as you can see the vehicles that criminals choose are ever changing and it is only so long before the criminal chooses another one over the white van. The van seems to be chosen because it is suitable for any criminal activity which is the only downside to the vehicle.

The plus side to vans is a much better one, they help thousands of people and businesses across the world every single day. commercial van leasing has helped even further by providing affordable means of getting hold of a van. Citroen van leasing and Mercedes Van Leasing are just some of the options out there to choose from.

Vans In Cartoons (Part 2)

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

So on with the next lot of toons that have either driven, ridden or of course been associated with a van.

All of the toons below compete with eachother all of the time and all of them really hate one another, which one do you like to watch. There havent been too many van showings in these ones but when they are in it they are made to be very funny.

The Anchor Van- Simpsons

Kent Brockman is the newsreader from the Simpsons that has a lot to do with vans because the company obviousy own a news van. Kent is never seen driving the van itself but it is a known fact that he does not come up with all of these quirky remarks himself, the team in the van channel them through to him.

Police Van With Family Guy

The van has only ever featured in one episode of the series and was used to listen in on a conversation between Lois and an ex. Peter is of course thinking that Lois is having an afair with her ex when in reality she has just gone to the local coffee shop for a drink. Peter joins the conversation half way through and catches something that sounds bad when of course it really isn’t.

Ice-Cream Van- South Park

This program has gone on for a very lon period of time so many vans have featured within it, this has to be the one that appears the most. The van was really only seen once and was used for one of many ways that the show has killed off Kenny.

So there you have it some of the best vans in cartoon history. Let us just hope that these toons looked into commercial van leasing for their vans to save a bit of money. Van contract hire could actually be a better way to use a van as it is a lot cheaper than buying one outright.

Vans Are On The Increase

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

It is without doubt that more people are interested in purchasing a van than they used to be. Over the past ten years the sales of vans has gone up by a wopping 40%?

Could it be to do with the fact that there is much more van contract hire going on than there used to be or is it something else?

It would seem that there are more companies out there that need the vans for their business which is partly why they have been on the increase. Companies such as BT and Parcelforce are always in need of more vans every year because more people are in need of their services. The same can be applied too with any company that delivers items.

E-Commerce sites have really kicked off over the past ten years which is partly vans have been on the increase. You can also blame the Royal Mail for all of this because they are incapable of delivering a letter on time let alone packages,. So in turn the need for vans goes up.

Many vans are actually on the increase because bigger companies are putting money into making them better. More companies are being set up that will let people get into Citroen van leasing and LDV van leasing which is actually cheaper than buying a van.

Vans are actually also very practical with many now having more than just the two seats and can be used for transporting any goods. A real big issue with vans is that they are associated with many, many crimes and this is something the police are looking to tackle.

However on a whole they are used for the right things and with the new “green vans” set to become available to everyone their popularity can only grow.

Vans In Cartoons (Part 1)

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

Believe it or not there are actually many famous cartoon characters that own a van and some of them are actually tuned into by millions of people with every new episode. Some of these are past sucesses and havent been around in a long while and some of them are made just for the enjoyment of the smaller kids. Here are the ones that I could think of.

The Famous Mystery Machine

If there was a top trumps game based on cartoon vans then this card would beat all of them hands down. In terms of putting a van inside a cartoon this is the one that really kicked it off. All of this kicked off in 1969 with the original series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The show is obviously still going strong and has not lost the original design at all, there are still many monsters to be caught. The monster nearly always turns out to be a human in disguise. It is wondered if the gang have this van on Van lease

A Bit Of A Classic- Postman Pat

This is more of a stop-motion feature than a cartoon but it has to be mentioned as it is certainly the most famous van to be made by somebody here in Britain It was first screened in 1981 and a newer series was made for 2006. This show was aimed mainly at the younger age group and both me and all of my friends were big fans when we were younger. The brilliant thing about Postman Pat is that he is the only Postman able to deliver the post on time!

Cheap Van Leasing has really got to be something that many of these cartoons had thought of when they purchased the vans.

Part two features cartoons from both the Family Guy and Simpsons cartoons so look out for more vans. Small van leasing is key for the next part.

Taking Off In Your Campervan

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

It is a dream that lots of people have and yet not many people actually get around to doing. Getting hold of a campervan, packing it up with everything you need to survive, and taking off with only a simple plan of where it is you’re going and how long you’re going for. There are things you can see and places you can go in a campervan that you simple wouldn’t have experienced if you’d stuck with bog standard holidays, so what are the essential things to get right.

Van. There have been some nightmare stories of people failing to taking out reliable commercial van leasing deals and the van dying within the first few miles. You obviously do not want the same thing to be happening on your trip so it’s usually best to buy a van and have it serviced by someone you trust, or hire/lease a van from a company that have a good reputation. Mercedes van leasing is an excellent choice as these vans are very reliable, rarely breaking down, but its still a good idea to give them a thorough check before heading off on your trip.

Money. You can never really know exactly what you will need money for on your trip and how much you will need. You should take money for the obvious such as food, gas and entertainment, but it’s worth having some back up. Take some extra cash with you for things such as vehicle maintenance or any other emergency situation. It is also worth taking a credit card for times when you need to get your hands on larger sums of money.

Time. So you’ve got your Citroen van leasing sorted, you’ve packed it all up, now all you need is a relaxed state of mind. There is no point trying to keep to a strict time plan and itinerary because on camper van holidays you are at the will of many different factors, including traffic, weather and a whole of other things. If you can free yourself from time you’ll have a much better one for sure.

As Petrol Prices Soar, Transport Companies Suffer

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

Being forced to heavily reevaluate their business models is something that UK and American companies are accustomed to, after the price of petrol shot up last year. Those companies that had transport operations felt the pressure more than most and it was common to see vehicle fleets reduced by more than half.

Fleets may need to be reduced even further now and companies pushed even closer towards breaking point as the government announces predicted further cost increases in the coming months. What is frustrating many business owners about this situation is the lack of information it gives them to predict profit margins. “We get a set of forcasts drawn up and then they mean nothing when petrol goes up so much” argues Jerry Henley, Managing Director of JHG Foods. Over 20% of all American transport-based businesses were forced to cease trading in 2008, and the figure is thought to be something similar in 2009 also.

Many people and businesses are on their last legs right now and the last thing they need is an increase in their overheads. “We are being crippled” argues Fiona Potter, who runs a small furniture chain in the UK. Our customers expect their furniture to be delivered to them, which is something that is becoming financially unviable for us now. Some companies such as the one mentioned above have taken up cheap van leasing to try an reduce their outgoings. This is because van leasing enables businesses to not buy their vans outright and so this is a useful option if cash-flow is poor. Interestingly, Citroen van leasing has been the most popular choice as on average these vans offer the best MPG. LDV van leasing is also up their with the most popular choices as their reliability is well respected in many industries.

Fueling Vans Is Getting Too Expensive

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

It wasnt that long ago that business in the UK and US found themselves under a large amount of pressure when their margins were slashed due to a increase in petrol prices. Many who relied on large fleets of vans to transport goods all over the country were forced to slash employee pay and take a number of their vehicles off the roads.

It was avouched this month that many businesses could be in for a second pounding as petrol prices are set to take another upward spike. The worst part of it, according to many transport companies is that they are increasingly unable to formulate accurate profit projections. “We get a set of forcasts drawn up and then they mean nothing when petrol goes up so much” argues Jerry Henley, Managing Director of JHG Foods. Many business experts have predicted that 2009 will see similar levels of transport-based companies shut down as witnessed last year, which was around 15%.

For companies that rely so heavy on petrol prices to turn over a profit, the news of another rise has not been well received. “We cannot survive much longer” claims Judith Grey, MD of UK-based company Grey Kitchens. Our customers expect their furniture to be delivered to them, which is something that is becoming financially unviable for us now. Lots of businesses like this found some salvation in cheap van leasing in an attempt to cut their costs. Because they are not buying the vehicles outright, they can afford to spend more on petrol whilst maintaining their margins. Interestingly, Citroen van leasing has been the most popular choice as on average these vans offer the best MPG. LDV van leasing is also up their with the most popular choices as their reliability is well respected in many industries.

Van Security - Stopping Tool Thieves

Posted by Tweeting Revolution

Stealing work tools from vans and trucks is big business these days and many tradesmen are victim to this horrible crime each year. These tools are often specialized and are very expensive, causing the tradesman to have to spend money on new tools and also lose trade in the mean time as they cannot do their work.Lets look at the top ways to keep your tools safe?

Remove the tools. Taking your tools out of your truck or van and into your house is the only way you can make certain they will not get taken. You may not be able to stop break ins this way but you’ll certainly save some money if it does happen. On top of this most thieves spy on their victims for a while to learn their habits and if you are seen taking your tools away with you every night, they will move on. Some tools are very difficult to remove each night however and so other security measure need to be put in place instead.

Sticker. A very simple yet affective way to deter thieves is to place a sticker on your van saying that all tools are removed overnight. Most commercial van leasing vehicles come with these on them already and they have much fewer cases of burglary. This is down to the fact that thieves play a percentage game and would rather target a van they are confident about rather than one they have an element of doubt about. Make sure you hide any tools from view however if you want to rely on this trick

Secure unit. Finding a van with good security is another great method. Citroen van leasing vans are well known for their security so these are a good choice. Tool thieves are well aware of which types of van just pop open and which require more time and skill. 9 times out of 10 they will choice the easiest option
